Abstract
Due to the existence of a geopolitical crisis, changes in the structure of the world polarity, the introduction of sanctions levers and pressure, the Russian Federation has to react actively and instantaneously and face many contemporary challenges and problems. Of course, this applies not only to the political component of society, but also to the economic one where tourism is a part. The sanctions directly affect the tourism sector in Russia, because there is not only an outflow of companies, but also tourists from other countries that affects the profits of tourism business. Therefore, it is necessary to find ways of attracting tourists from the list of «friendly countries», and this problem can be solved with national tourist routes that have been on the domestic market of tourist services for more than 10 years, but receive wide publicity, attention and development only over the past 5–6 years. This scientific work considers the perspective of promoting Russian tourist product to foreign markets under conditions of unstable geopolitical situation. In the process of writing the article, the authors put forward a thesis on the duality of sanctions, drawing attention to the development of the tourism industry and hospitality, thanks to the presence of foreign tourists. The importance of national tourist routes is explained and their analysis is provided. Special attention is given to the analysis of partner countries that can provide support in promoting the Russian tourist product. The authors also describe the potential consequences of promoting a Russian tourist product abroad, noting the potential advantages and disadvantages of this solution.
