Abstract
The article examines the sustainable development of hotels through the lens of creating accessible and inclusive environments for people with disabilities (PwDs). Against the background of growing global concern over social inequality and the increasing salience of corporate social responsibility (CSR) and ESG concepts, the integration of barrier-free design principles into hotel sustainability strategies acquires fundamental theoretical and applied significance. Drawing on an analysis of Russian and international practice, current regulatory frameworks, and a systematic literature review, the study develops the conceptual Sustainable Inclusive Hotel model (SIH model), structured on the IPOO architecture and integrating environmental innovations, inclusive service practices, and universal design principles. A comparative analysis of six key Russian tourist regions identifies three distinct models of accessible hospitality infrastructure development. Verification of four research hypotheses confirms that investments in barrier-free environments generate long-term competitive advantages, strengthen the S-component of ESG strategy, and contribute to the achievement of the UN Sustainable Development Goals. The practical value of the study lies in project-oriented recommendations for hotel management and tourism regulatory authorities.
