KHABAROVSK, 3 June. The submergence of the island of Moneron will be popular, including through cruise tours. This was reported by the Minister of Tourism of the Sakhalin region Artem Lazarev.
Moneron is located in the Tatar Strait, 43 kilometers from the southwest coast of Sakhalin. Island of volcanic origin, the underwater landscape includes canyons, cracks, rock falls. The water is transparent, visibility reaches 40 meters. The marine ecosystem is characterized by a great diversity - mollusc galiotic, large predatory multitudinous star plastizer borealis, found in Russia only on the Monero, jellyfish, octopuses, sea urchins. During the dive, you can see several dozen seahorses and seagulls at the same time. Moneron is the only marine natural park in Russia.
On July 1, the cruise program on Moneron on the ship "Igor Farhtutdinov" will start. The ship is used on regular routes to the Kuril Islands and will be used for the first time in a tourist direction. The excursion component will be very rich, said the minister, will start in South-Sakhalinsk. The group that will go to the island will be accompanied by a professional tour guide.
The key point of the route will be the island of Moneron. By purchasing a voucher, tourists themselves will choose the activity. This can be a walking tour of the island, a water trip to Cologeas Bay with seashore beds, snorkeling, kayaking, or sandboarding. On request, it will be possible to stay on the island for self-guided diving. On the way back, the ship will stop in the area of Point Krill - tourists can admire the views and take beautiful photos. The cost of the tour is based on the level of the cabin and activities that the tourist acquires. The price starts from 17,500 rubles.
In total, five sorties of the ship "Igor Farhtutdinov" on the cruise route are planned for this season. The island can be visited by up to 500 people, said Lazarev. Thanks to the grammatical distribution of activities, the recreational load will remain within acceptable limits, he emphasized. The vessel itself is a reinforced ice class. This will allow not only to travel comfortably and safely, but also to approach the island even in difficult weather conditions: with a big wave or fog. "This is the first experience for the region in the implementation of the 24-hour cruise project." After the first cruise, we will be able to make a detailed analysis and together with tour operators improve the product, making it even better. I am sure that this is a valuable experience for the region, the only one in Russia located on islands.
