Abstract
The article evaluates the level of provision of facilities to meet the recreational needs of the districts of Novosibirsk. Novosibirsk is a megacity with a population of more than 1.6 million people. Novosibirsk has 10 districts, which are largely differentiated by the number of facilities per 10,000 people. A brief description of the city districts is given. The list of objects of satisfaction of recreational needs is substantiated. The objects are: baths and saunas, libraries, museums, theaters, art exhibitions, parks, cultural centers. cinemas, karaoke, beaches, fitness clubs and gyms, hotels, massage and SPA salons, as well as shopping and entertainment centers. Data on the number of specific objects in individual districts is provided. The 2GIS electronic cartographic system served as a source for data collection. Based on the data obtained, a rating of districts is compiled based on the availability of various facilities. Among the variety of recreational infrastructure facilities in Novosibirsk, there are a greater number of massage parlors and SPA salons combined. There are almost 10 massage and SPA salons per 10,000 residents of Novosibirsk, while there are almost 37 such salons per 10,000 Novosibirsk residents living in the Central District. Fitness clubs and gyms are in second place in terms of number. The third place according to this criterion belongs to baths and saunas. To a lesser extent, the city is provided with art museums, parks, cinemas and beaches – on average, there are one such facilities per one hundred thousand Novosibirsk residents.
