Abstract
The article is devoted to the theoretical understanding of the integration of consumer design methods and the sensory tourism concept as a promising area for developing tourism and recreational design. The research purpose is to substantiate the theoretical foundations and practical mechanisms for the synthesis of design methodologies and a multisensory approach to forming a holistic tourist experience. The article substantiates that consumer design has a well-developed toolkit for managing sensory impressions through purposeful work with shape, material, color, texture, lighting and aromatization of the environment. Based on the analysis of empirical studies, including emotional mapping, the semantic differential method, and sensory audit of destinations, the possibilities of verifying sensory experience are demonstrated. It is concluded that the synthesis of design methodologies and a sensory approach makes it possible to move from spontaneous impression formation to a guided design of the tourist experience that meets the experience economics principles and takes into account the multidimensionality of human perception.
