Minister of the Government of Serbia Nenad Popović confirmed that the country does not plan to introduce a visa regime for Russian citizens. According to him, Russians can still visit Serbia without visas and use direct flights from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kazan, Sochi and Nizhny Novgorod.
Previously, the possibility of revising the visa-free regime in connection with the European integration of Serbia was discussed in the information field. However, the country’s leaders have repeatedly stated that no such plans exist. Expert of the Russian Union of Travel Industry, head of visa agency Visantium Egor Kail notes that Serbia remains one of the most attractive European destinations for Russian travelers. «Serbia traditionally remains one of the closest and most understandable for Russian travelers to European destinations. It is a culturally close and hospitable country, where Russians can travel without visas and with direct flights from several Russian cities. In addition, Belgrade is often used as a transit point for further trips to Europe, and many travelers stay in Serbia specifically for several days, combining transit with full acquaintance with the country.
The most likely scenario for 2026 is a continuation of the official tourist flow at 2025 level or its moderate growth. At the same time, the most noticeable dynamic is likely to continue in the segment of independent travel and long trips , - noted the expert. RST experts note that for the tourist market, stability of entry conditions is no less important than transport accessibility. The official confirmation of the maintenance of visa-free regime allows tourists and tour operators to plan trips more confidently, and the destination itself - to maintain competitive advantages in the Russian market.
